Jamie Ray Cook, EA
Owner & Enrolled Agent
Jamie Cook is the owner of Ray’s Tax & Accounting, LLC and an Enrolled Agent specializing in tax preparation and planning. Since joining the business in 2011, Jamie has helped grow and modernize the client experience while continuing the trusted, relationship-first service her dad, Kim Ray, built the business on.
Today, Jamie personally completes every tax return that comes through Ray’s Tax & Accounting, LLC, giving clients confidence that their return is handled with care, accuracy, and specialized tax knowledge. She is passionate about getting to know the people behind the paperwork, answering questions with clarity, and helping business owners feel more at peace with their finances.
Whether she’s supporting small business owners, farmers, or self-employed professionals, Jamie’s goal is simple: to help clients calculate their most advantageous results while making the process feel as smooth and stress-free as possible.
Jerry Kim Ray, EA
Founder & Enrolled Agent
Jerry Kim Ray is the founder and previous owner of Ray’s Tax & Accounting, LLC, where he built the business on trust, relationships, and genuine care for the people he served.
Before tax and accounting became part of his story, Kim achieved a bachelor’s degree in business administration as well as education, finishing his master’s in 1980. He also worked as a school teacher and later retired as a principal in 2003. In 1984 after purchasing an Apple IIE computer, he completed 10 tax returns for friends and family. What began as a practical project eventually grew into a business serving hundreds of clients.
Now, as Jamie continues the legacy he started, Kim’s influence remains at the heart of the business: serve people well, know your clients, and help them move forward with confidence.
Sherri Thurman, CPA, CFP
Accountant
Sherri Thurman is a retired CPA and CFP who brings decades of financial experience to the Ray’s Tax & Accounting, LLC team. During tax season, Sherri works alongside Jamie to support clients with thoughtful guidance, trusted expertise, and a steady presence during one of the busiest times of the year.
With her background in accounting and financial planning, Sherri offers valuable insight and support to help the team serve clients well. Her experience, attention to detail, and calm approach make her an important part of the seasonal team at Ray’s Tax & Accounting, LLC.
Together with Jamie, Sherri helps ensure clients feel supported, prepared, and cared for throughout the tax process.
